MYAS FALL LEAGUE
Pink Division
BARNUM GOLD 52, GOODHUE 32

In a battle of undefeated Class A teams that figure to be playing in March, it was Barnum with an inside out combination that proved lethal coming out victorious 52-32. Megan Myhre, a transplanted perimeter player had 27 points (including a three) and the Barnum sharpshooters connected for 7 treys on the day.

Both teams struck on their first possessions, but soon thereafter Goodhue was stymied on offense with a 7 possession drought. Barnum added 8 points to their totals in the absence of Goodhue point production to take a 13-4 lead. Barnum already had three 3s at this point by three different players. Barnum never put together a great offensive string, but kept away from prolonged droughts as well. With the outside game firing up, that opened up space for Megan Myhre to operate in the middle. She operated for 14 points in the first half as no Goodhue player could match her size and physical stature. It was Barnum 31-16 at half.

Barnum started off the second half like they started the first half with a pair of threes, including Megan Myhre, who used to patrol behind the 3 line until Colleen McKay graduated. Now with McKay gone Myhre is the main inside focal point. Goodhue made an effort to cut the margin and they did down to 11 at 43-32, but then they finished up empty on their next 11 possessions to close the game.

It should be noted that Barnum's perimeters are all young 10-10-9-8, plus they can move.
