FALL LEAGUE
St. Paul Central defeated Chaska 54-41 in the MYAS girls basketball Fall League. In a match up with two players that figure to be in the Miss Basketball hunt SPC's Kiara Buford held the upper hand over Chaska's Courtney Boylan squad. Earlier Central edged Kennedy 33-29.
There are 19 undefeated teams left in the MYAS fall ball
Blue: Hopkins, Osseo White
White: St. Paul Central, 43 Hoops
Red: Centennial Red, Centennial White, Maple Grove #1, Rascals
Green: Forest Lake Maroon, Midtown Lady Monarchs, River Falls, WI
Orange: Suns, Hudson, WI, Henry Sibley
Yellow: Irondale Maroon, Redhawks
Pink: Barnum Maroon, Goodhue, Barnum Gold
The best point differentials so far:

SUMMER BALL
ECI was in Minot recently promoting their basketball summer operations. ECI West Gold finished 2nd in the Dakota Showcase and Bottineau's Shauna Knife was a member of the squad. From the Minot Daily News.

LATE SUMMER RESULTS
The LaCrosse Celtics led by Danielle Jorgenson of LaCrosse Logan won the Badger state games this summer. From the LaCrosse Tribune look under Gold Medal Hoops.

COACHING NEWS
Green Bay Southwest has hired Kelly McNiff as their new girls basketball coach. McNiff was a girls JV coach at DePere. From the Green Bay Press Gazette look under Trojans Hire Two.

INJURY UPDATE
It has been confirmed by an Orthopedic Doctor that Kelsie Ammann of Lakeville North sustained a deep muscle bruise to her knee. Should be back on the court in about two weeks. Ammann was injured in the MN Stars Showcase on Saturday. (see game 2 report yesterday).

By the way I updated the photos for game 2 last night.

SHOOTING CLINIC
URGENT: IMMEDIATE RESERVATIONS FOR SHOOTING CLINIC NECESSARY

-Tom Norland's shooting clinic, sponsored by Worthington Girls Basketball Association: Wednesday evening, October 10th, from 6:00 SHARP - 10:00 (participants should arrive between 5:30 - 5:45 at Prairie Elementary gym off Hwy 59&60 South ).
-Clinic costs $75/person (includes Swish22 shooting DVD for each player ).
-Coaches with minimum of 2 athletes attending are free (otherwise $35 cost).
-Limited to first 30 participants from grades 8-12 who have reserved and paid.
-Check should be made to Worthington Girls Basketball Association.
-Call Mark Boever (507-360-8912) to reserve a spot and arrange payment (Mark Boever, 28680 US Hwy 59, Worthington Mn. 56187).
-This event will fill up fast so don't wait to make contact to reserve a spot and send fee.

-If this date does not work out for some, he will be offering the same clinic in Minneapolis area within the same week (see his web site for details).
