NORTH TARTAN/43 HOOPS SHOWCASE
TEAM FIVE 43, TEAM SEVEN 33
In these showcase events the more aggressive, the more assertive a player is the better they do. Team five (the blue team) had this, plus they were able to score more. Don't make any mistake, the offenses in these events are basically who can create off the dribble and who is aware of who is open. Neither team cracked above .400 floor%. Sometimes players don't know they are open and catchable balls are knocked out of bounds. It is a matter of communication, balance and awareness. Some players simply disappear in this format. Some are too generous and don't flat out rule like they are capable of.
In any event it was Five taking over almost right from the start. The game was tied once in the first half at 2 a piece. Blue led at half 20-16.
Most of the time, even though it was raining outside, we were looking at drought conditions for scoring. Team Seven endured stretches of five, and three four possession droughts in the second half. It added up.
