St. Paul Central downed Cretin-Derham Hall 78-70 in a marquee match up of future D1 point guards. SPC's Angel Robinson (Marquette) had 30, CDH's Alyssa Karel (Wisconsin) had 21.
Karel had 6 in the first half, and 15 in the second half.
Robinson had 22 in the first half, 8 in the second half.
Their teams reflected how they did each half.
They didn't have Karel on Robinson in the first half. Dienhart was guarding Robinson early. In the second half CDH was using its jump defense. Dienhart still had primary responsibilities.
Both had passes with the wow factor.
Kiara Buford was consistent in both halves with 9 and 11 for 20 on the night. Smooth and speedy. Buford and Geske for CDH run the floor for the touchdown passes once their guards get the ball.
Georgie Jones has improved on her ferocity in rebounding.
Theairra Taylor was going by CDH's speed.
Both teams had their full court press running both the whole game.
SPC's Ebony Black didn't practice with a knee problem on Monday, therefore didn't play.

Becker got back on the winning track with a 57-36 win over Richfield. Becker led at the half 33-14. Brianna Mastey led Becker with 17. Sophomore Jessie Althoff had 11. Becker took a 17-3 run to finish off the Spartans. Becker led 55-24 with 7 minutes left.
