Smith's Triple Double Propels Detroit King

#2A Detroit King beat Detroit Northwestern for the second time this year thanks to a triple double by Diamond Smith (12 points, 15 rebounds, 10 blocks). This story in the Detroit News.

#1D Portland St. Patrick squeezed out a 63-61 win over Pewamo-Westphalia helped by Tonya Weber's 24 points.
East Lansing got by Holt in overtime 59-51.

Lissie McAlvey canned two free throws with 3.5 seconds left to lift #8D Lansing Christian to a 49-48 win over Saginaw Buena Vista.

Grand Rapids Christian shut down Ottawa Hills in the 3rd quarter in a 62-42 win.

COLLEGE REPORTS
MSU Mankato has a slew of new big people in the middle including two MN players that have returned from D1 programs: Mari Korton, Andover (Bradley) and Teresa Parker, Pequot Lakes (Southern Illinois). You will have to get past the men's story early in the story in the Mankato Free Press.

Iowa State is #23 in the country according to the website SportspageMagazine.com. The site also has listed Minnesota and Penn State in the faltering fours. Jolene Anderson, Wisconsin is listed as an All American. The Des Moines Register also has information.

Dr. Linda Borish, a historian at Western Michigan University, has helped with "Jewish Women in American Sport: Settlement Houses to the Olympics" a documentary.
