MN to Crack Down on Transfers?

MN TRANSFER DECISIONS
The Minnesota State High School League has a 45-person transfer committee looking at how to close the holes in the current system. Things should be in place for the 2007-2008 season. The current favorite is the "Wisconsin" plan. John Millea of the StarTribune walks you through the options.
My favorite is the Hawaiian plan where a student would be able to transfer all they want, but they would be ineligle for one year in the sport they played at school A. In other words, if they played basketball at school A, they would be prevented from playing at school B for a year. The student could play softball (if they didn't play at school A). This would stop some transfers cold.
Let's see if the State High School League has the guts to get this done or if they just water the rules down.
It would be interesting to hear from past players to see if any carrots were tossed their way by coaches to entice them to switch schools.
