MN GBB Convention Opens Today

MN GBB COACHES CONVENTION OPENS
The MN Girls Basketball Coaches Association opens their Fall Convention at North St. Paul today. Doors open at 4:30 pm and the first speaker, Pam Borton, Gopher coach, will start her talk at 5:40 pm. The coaches association welcomes coaches from all levels.
This will be the first day my MN girls Basketball Yearbook will be on sale. If you can't make it there to order you can order right here.

COACHING NEWS
WI
Former Concordia St. Paul player Jen Pozzani is the new coach at Beloit Turner. She will also be the new softball coach at Beloit Memorial. She attended both schools during her HS career. At Turner she will coach her sister. Here is her story from the Beloit Daily News

MICHIGAN RESULTS
The son beat the father as Brighton, coached by Jason Piepho beat Howell coached by Lee Piepho 44-39. In the game Lindsey Davis, Howell guard had a concussion. The Detroit News also leads with this game. Both papers have more game recaps.

Northview beat Belding 44-39. It was the the cure for Northview's loss to Jenison on Tuesday.
Wyoming Park is undefeated in the OK Blue with a 60-47 win over Cedar Springs.
Wayland hung on late for a 53-52 win over Hamilton in an OK Gold game.

East Lansing edged Lansing Sexton in overtime 67-57. EL's Klarissa Bell knocked down a 3 with 30 seconds left to force ot.
Morrice pinned the first conference loss on Dansville 39-28.
#1C Saginaw Nouvel Catholic beat Pewamo-Westphalia 55-41. PW cut the lead to 46-41, but never scored again.

ACLs
Houghton, the defending class C champ from the UP, is featured in the Detroit Free Press. Houghton is playing this year without point guard Alyssa Polso who had ACL damage in June.
Miranda DeKuiper, Ludington, is also out with an ACL. She too is a point guard. Ludington is now down to their 3rd point guard as backup Emily Whitman went down. Again from the DFP, but you need to scroll down just a tad.

Gabrielle Machado, Pontiac Northern, and Ashley Allison, Marine City Cardinal Mooney were named to the Prep Stars in the Detroit Free Press.
