BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S red knights 64,
CHISAGO LAKES wildcats 40

Kachine Alexander put on a show scoring 31 points, including #1000, in a lopsided affair at Benilde. She had 15 in the first half, 16 in the second, althougth she sat for last 6 minutes.

The BSM pressure got to CL early. The first two times they touched the ball it ended up in BSM's hands before midcourt. CL tied the game at 4 on the two consecutive baskets by Kori Sells. CL's only lead came on an NBA 3 by Jess Peterson at 7-6. CL had a 10 possession drought in which BSM had an 11-0 run to make it 21-9 before CL scored again. Both teams attacked the paint. CL more posting up manuevers, BSM slash and dish. BSM led at half 27-19.

CL was able to cut the margin early in the second half to 27-22, but then the levees broke and BSM scored on five consecutive possessions in a 12-0 run to turn the game into a route. Alexander had 8 of those points during the run. CL was able to string their own five possession scoring streak on a 9-6 run, but didn't really prevent BSM from scoring. There was a scoring sequence where BSM was 11/13, including six in a row at one point. Alexander had another 8 in that outburst. That run was 21-8. By that time the benches were emptied.

defending AAA champ Benilde is not at full strength yet. Williams is out (see below) and Morgan is working her way back into the line up from her knee injury. They did have the 5th best floor % I have seen this year. Their pressure and quickness bother CL all night. CL put themselves in bad positions during the press and players moved away from the ball as the players stopped their dribble.
