TEAM BASKETBALL PLUS 3 ON 3 CHAMPS
Team Basketball Plus beat the Basketball Divas 20-12 to take the championship in the Hoop It Up 3 on 3 tournament today near Dunwoody in Minneapolis. TBP was taking it to the streets, or at least the parking lot in their win. There were only five teams in the upper level division.
The weather was outstanding with temperatures in the lower 70s and a full sun. The wind was more of a gentle breeze. However the surface, besides being unforgiving tar, sloped to the 3 point line, and the rim also sloped that direction. Rules were a team gets one point in front of the three point line and two points behind it. Maybe they should have called it the two point line. Fouls were not shot, but the team retained possession unless it was deemed a shooting foul.
TEAM BASKETBALL PLUS 20, MPLS WASHBURN 15
Since there were only five teams everybody played each other once yesterday and today. In the first game it was Team Basketball Plus coached by Jimmy Rogers. As the #1 seed they faced a Minneapolis Washburn based squad. TBP scored on their first two possessions, but Washburn didn't back down from the bigger bodies of TBP. Washburn tied it at two and three. TBP moved out to 9-6, again Washburn came back using the "2" ball. For the game Washburn struck gold from behind the "2" five times. Their last "2" came from Jermisha Watson as she tied the contest up at 15. That was to be Washburn's final points. They finished the game with a nine possession drought. Tina Fisher ended the contest with a mid range shot. For the game Cassie Rochel had 8 for TBP in a balanced attack.

In the stats that follow I will double the points (or give the 3) to make the pp100 in line with the regular indoor game.
