Kuehl Verbals, No to DeBeer, Brown Busted

KUEHL VERBALS
Shyla Kuehl of Hustisford, WI has verballed North Dakota. The 6-2 forward averaged 14.4 ppg last season.

Kuehl played with HLC during the summer.

Kuehl is the 11th player from the 2009 Wisconsin class to verbal, and the 8th to verbal a D1 program.

Emily Schartner of Ringgold, PA has verballed New Jersey Tech. The 5-10 guard averaged 15 ppg. From the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
Schartner is the first known 2009 player from Pennsylvania to verbal.

SIGNINGS
Davenport has signed Kristina and Katelyn Cousins from Forest Hills Central, MI for the 2009-10 season. Katelyn, a forward, averaged 16 ppg; Kristina is a point guard. FHC was 23-2 last year.

Kristina and Katelyn are the 5th and 6th players from the 2009 Michigan class to verbal/sign, and the first two headed to an NAIA school.

COACHING NEWS
Sioux Valley will not renew the coaching contract of Brad DeBeer in a divided vote. DeBeer was the coach the past six seasons. Sioux Valley went to the state tournament last year. The school board is not talking much. From the Brookings Register.

AAU WRAP
Pinnacle Bank Nebraska finished the summer 23-2 after winning the Vision Sports Shootout in Las Vegas at the end of the July. From the Omaha World Herald.

GERMAN TRIP
Hope College picked up a 53-45 win during their German trip. From the Holland Sentinel.

POLICE BLOTTER
Arnika Brown of Western Kentucky has been charged with counterfeiting. From the Bowling Green Daily News.
