Tiffanie Porter of Des Moines East has verballed Northern Iowa. The 5-6 guard averaged 7 ppg for the 14-6 Scarlets last year.
Porter is the 6th player from the Iowa 2009 class to verbal. All are D1.

Former Gopher and Hopkins player Leslie Knight has signed a pro basketball contract with Canti Riva Basket team in Riva, Switzerland.

Former North Dakota State and Austin player Lisa Bue has signed a pro basketball contract with Zeljeznicar a team from Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

New St. Cloud State coach Lori Fish met the press and community yesterday.

Team Basketball Plus will be playing in the Hoop It Up 3 on 3 Tournament this weekend in the Div. 17 Bracket. The team is comprised of Theairra Taylor(St. Paul Central), Cassie Rochel(Lakeville North), Hana Potter(Hopkins), Tina Fisher(Park of Cottage Grove) and Carissa Wolyniec (DeLaSalle). Action takes place near Dunwoody College August 9 and 10.

DePere's Claire Steffen tore an anterior cruciate ligament in a knee during a tournament in Chicago last month. The injury occured with three seconds left in a blowout. From the Green Bay Press Gazette.
