ADDING TO THE ROSTER
Eastern Michigan has added four junior college transfers to their roster for 2008-09:
Amanda Tretheway (San Francisco, Calif.-El Camino (Foothill C.C.)
Kayla Vantil (Mountain View, Calif.-Mountain View (Foothill C.C.)
De’Ja Wills (Anderson, Ind.-Anderson)
Sydney Huntley-Rogers (Cincinnati, Ohio-Purcell Marian)
Maja Gerlyng of Horsholm, Denmark has signed with Siena.
Kentucky has added Keyla Snowden of Lexington Catholic, KY and Sarah Rowe of Rockcastle County, KY to their roster. Snowden is a transfer from Akron. Rowe will be a walk on.
Tolu Omotola, Antoinette Thompson, and Amanda Sims have arrived on campus at Texas Christian.
COACHING NEWS
Rick Niemi has been hired as the new girls basketball coach by Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central in Michigan. He had been a women's assistant coach at Siena Heights. From the Monroe News.
Kristen Buckley has been named an assistant at Brown. Buckley was the head coach at Colorado Christian. Buckley is a Drake 1998 grad.

Colorado State will hold a picnic on September 7 to meet the team and first year coach Kristen Holt.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was picked by John McCain to be his vice president choice. She was the point guard on the Alaska state champion Wasilla in 1982 when her nickname on the court was Sarah Barracuda. From NPR.
