NESBITT VERBALS
Trisha Nesbitt of Ames has verballed Iowa. The 5-7 guard averaged 14.7 ppg for the 15-7 Ames Little Cyclones. Nesbitt played with IBCA Select Red for the past two summers. She will join former IBCA teammates Jamie Printy and Kelly Krei at Iowa City.

A 4-year varsity starter, Nesbitt plans to redshirt her first year with the Hawks to better prepare her for the physical Big Ten play
Nesbitt chose Iowa over several other Division I schools who offered scholarships because of the relationship developed with the Hawkeye coaching staff. "I'm really looking forward to being a Hawkeye," commented Nesbitt. "I'm excited for the challenges of playing in a great conference like the Big Ten."
She is a 2-time first team all-CIML Iowa selection. Nesbitt also was named to 1st team all-state by the IGCA in 2008. She helped the Little Cyclones to a state tournament berth in 2007 and has helped compile a 52-16 record in three years at Ames High School. "She's a tireless worker who's competitiveness and leadership skills will make her a true asset to the Hawkeyes," said Joel Sullivan, Ames High's Head Coach. "Iowa is getting a great basketball player and more importantly, a fantastic person."
She will sign her National Letter of Intent in November. From the Des Moines Register and Ames Tribune.

Nesbitt is the 8th player from the Iowa 2009 class to verbal, all 8 headed to a D1 program.
Nesbitt is the fourth player from the IBCA Select Red team to verbal.
