Signing Day, Coaching Drama at Gladstone

SIGNING DAY
There will be plenty of girls basketball players signing on the dotted line today. The Green Bay Press Gazette lists two that will sign today: Kaitlyn Bettiga of Ashwaubenon to UW Parkside; and Brynn Larsen of Oconto Falls to Northern Michigan.

COACHING NEWS
Peggy Beauchamp has been named girls basketball coach at Gladstone, Michigan. Last week coach Chris Kelley resigned. Residents told about past “inappropriate behavior” at a school board meeting. "Public lynching" is also mentioned in the story. Kelley was hired on Oct. 15. From the Escanaba Daily Press.

MORE SCRIMMAGES
Here are some more girls basketball Scrimmages Saturday, November 17:
at Princeton middle school starting at 9 am: Meadow Creek, Chisago Lakes, Anoka, Henry Sibley, Princeton, Simley, South St. Paul, and PACT.
at Fergus Falls. Moorhead will be there.

IOWA JAMBOREES
Harlan will host a six team jamboree. Joining them include IKM, East Mills, Atlantic, Griswold and Red Oak. Event starts at 5 pm on Thursday. From the Harlan Tribune.

NORTH DAKOTA START
North Dakota schools have started practice. Minot Bishop Ryan is featured in a KXMB story with video.

CONFERENCE NEWS/PREVIEWS
Rhinelander will stay in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. From the Rhinelander Daily News.

The Detroit Catholic League has realigned. Marine City Cardinal Mooney is now in the North/South Division. From the Port Huron Times Herald.

Marine City and Marysville's chances in the Macomb Area Conference Gold Division are examined in the PHTH.

Warren Woods-Tower is the favorite in the Macomb Area Conference Blue Division. Again the PHTH does the honors.

The Greater Thumb East is previewed in the PHTH.

Kimball New Life Christian Academy, a class D team, is previewed in the PHTH.
