LE SUEUR-HENDERSON giants 56,
BLUE EARTH buccaneers 43

LeSueur-Henderson won the battle of 2AA West rivals and handed Blue Earth their second loss on the year 56-43. LSH's record is now 9-3, Blue Earth's is 9-2. Blue Earth still is in first in the 2AA West standings.

LSH had four cracks at scoring in their first possession and eventually connected on Abbie Wilson's put back. Blue Earth scored on their first two possessions to lead 5-2. But BE offensive production was plagued throughout the night with droughts. BE had spells of 6, and 9 in the first half. BE led 15-10 when the nine possession drought struck. LSH, on the other hand, was 5/6 during this stretch, went on a 12-0 run to lead 22-15 to blow the game open. Part of the success of LSH during this stretch was the 2/3 zone and the seven consecutive defensive rebounds by Nicole Neumann. LSH was converting on their second shots for 8 points in the first half. LSH led 24-18 at half.

LSH went on a 14-1 run and expanded their lead in the second half up to 49-31. BE again had drought issues, this time 10 straight nonscoring possessions. No one LSH player dominated the defensive end, but Abbie Wilson had three wraps in that stretch. Doerr led with 8 points in the run. Then it was LSH's turn to go cold, they had a nine possession drought with seven due to turnovers. Blue Earth took advantage of that dry spell to cut the margin to 49-41. It was at 2:31 when Hayley Darrington was intentionally fouled on a break by Doerr. Darrington only made one free throw and BE didn't convert following the out of bounds play, missing a chance at three more points on that possession. That stopped the 10-0 BE run. LSH finished off the game cashing in at the line for their last 7 points.
