Michigan State's loss to Purdue last week exposed a lack of communication on the court according to the State News, the MSU student paper.

Ohio racked up Akron 66-55. Jordan's Mandy Holzer started and had 7 points for Akron, while Bloomington Kennedy's Allison Schoff was off the bench and did not score.

Army shelled American 60-47. DeLaSalle's Talicia Jackson had 7 off the bench for American.

Loyola Chicago dropped Chicago State 79-73 in a neighborhood turf battle. Mpls North's Faith Buchanan had 8 off the bench for Chicago State.

Amy Lawson of Bemidji State hit a buzzer beater 3 in a 86-83 win over MSU Mankato. Red Lake Falls' Heidi Matzke and Bismarck Century's Stephanie Peterson each had 18 for BSU. Triton's Alex Andrews led MSU Mankato with 17.

Rockhurst rocked Upper Iowa 67-64. Emporia KS's Chelsea Barnett had 25 for Rockhurst. Chicago Harlan's Andrea Downs led UIU with 20.

North Dakota remains the #1 team in D2 according to the USA Today/ESPN poll. Other neighboring schools in the top 25 include: Grand Valley State is 13th, Augustana 14th, South Dakota 17th; and Northern State 22nd.

Mayville State's Jamie Wheeler was chosen as the Dakota Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

Missouri Valley College has 5 Minnesotans on the team, 4 of which play a lot. They just upset 25th ranked Benedictine 68-61, with Holly Siverling from Robbinsdale Armstrong scoring 19 pts with 9 reb, Bonnie Johnson from Osseo with 16 pts and 8 reb and Mandy Wurm from Maple Lake scoring 11 pts with 6 boards. Anne Woods from Mahtomedi is the starting PG averaging 4 assists/game.
