MINNESOTA REPORTS

#1 St. Paul Central defeated Harding 92-23 on Friday night. In the game Angel Robinson had 8 steals which gives her a career total of 690. She now becomes the state's all-time leader in steals. The previous leader was Ashley Samuelson '05 of Underwood, who finished her career with 688. Ebony Black had 8 rebounds in the game which gives her a career total of 1004 rebounds. From the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
If you notice Central's scores in the St. Paul City conference have a glass ceiling. They never cross over 100. This has come from the top down. Also in the Pioneer Press.
My take--the players that work all summer are being ripped off to protect other team's "fee wings" It is better to be the 11th person on the team because you will get more playing time. It doesn't show the time put in. Show the real differences. Don't be so sensitive. Why should Angel Robinson, et. al. be punished for being good.
There was a great story in the book by Dick DeVenzio where a team that is not able to play at full force is really cheapening the game. In other words it is a gift and not earned that these teams are "holding" Central to less than 100. How delusional. How will the teams know they have improved if the game is rigged? Isn't it point shaving? It is time the other schools in the system start working at their games. Quit trying to force others to hold back. Get better yourselves.

Bloomington Kennedy's Tara Steinbauer hit the 1000 point mark with 16 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists in the 69 - 56 win over Rosemount. Earlier this week, Tara had 28 points against #7 ranked Eastview in Kennedy's win.
