BLOOMINGTON KENNEDY eagles 61,
BURNSVILLE blaze 42

In a match up between two Lake Conference and 5AAAA rivals, Kennedy accelerated past first place Burnsville 61-42. Burnsville is 6-2 in conference now with Kennedy at 5-2.

Kennedy set the tone for the game on their first possession with five shots at the basket. Brittany Zins scored the put back. Kennedy pushed that up to 9-0 when Burnsville took their first time out at 14:31. The Blaze burned their third timeout at 16-2 at 12:01. Zins was on a roll with her third 3 from the left corner. That Kennedy lead would grow to 28-12 with another 3 by Zins from the left corner. At that point Danielle Dove took over for Burnsville with her own 3 from the left wing. Dove had scored points 11 & 12 on a pull up jumper earlier. Dove lived up to the blaze name as she was on fire. She scored 11 of Burnsville's last 13 points to finish the half including three 3s. Burnsville ended the half with a 13-2 run on 6/8 possessons to make it Kennedy 30-25.

Burnsville sliced that lead to 32-29 on a basket by Molly Duehn from an out of bounds play with 14:26 to go. But the dam gave way soon enough and Kennedy scored on nine straight possessions on a 20-4 run to lead 55-35. Zins, and Shakila Boler had 6 each in the run, with Tara Steinbauer not far behind with 5. Burnsville had a five possession drought, and 2/12 sequence. The rest of the game didn't vary too far from that margin.
