McCarville Wishes; North Dakota's Revenge

BIG 10 ACTION
Ohio State beat the Gophers 75-62. Four MN players finished in double digits.

Illinois bounced back from Sunday's loss with a 70-51 win over Michigan. Bloomington Kennedy's Jenna Smith had a double double with 15 pts, 10 rebounds. The Michigan Daily talks of the cruelty of Crisler Arena.

Michigan State remained undefeated in conference play with a 64-56 overtime win over Indiana. Mpls North's Mia Johnson had 17 to lead MSU.

Penn State slapped Northwestern 85-53. Breck's Melissa Miller provided 4 points for NW.

HORIZON ACTION
UW Green Bay drove over Detroit 86-70. Benilde-St. Margaret's Chanica Hall played but didn't score for Detroit.

Illinois Chicago raced by Cleveland State 72-46. Holy Angels' Jessie Miller had 3, Eastview's Cassie Johnson didn't score for UIC.

MISSOURI VALLEY
Northern Iowa edged Creighton 56-53. Eastview's Michelle Kaus and Mpls North's Tyrai Bronson did not score, but both played for Creighton.

Wyoming surprised New Mexico 54-51. Roseville's Amy Beggin played but did not score for New Mexico.

Maine pounded New Hampshire 64-47. Breck's Lindsey Hugstad-Vaa had 10 and Hopkins' Abby Greene had 3 for Maine as starters.

Eastern Washington gave Montana State the slip 69-66. Breck's Alyssa Nelson had 2 for Montana State.

Colorado State soared over Air Force 65-56. The Breck threesome of Emily Neal, who started, Kelly Mullaney, and Kelly Finley had zero, 4, and zero for CSU.

Austin Peay toasted Jacksonville State 74-67

NORTH CENTRAL ACTION

Augustana continued their winning ways with a 70-62 victory over UN Omaha 70-62. Willmar's Alison Adamson had a game high 21 for Augustana. The Sioux Falls Argus Leader has more on the win. The Argus Leader also has a preview of the clash this weekend between Augustana and South Dakota.

MSU Mankato dropped UM Duluth 71-65.

North Dakota got revenge in a big way against St. Cloud State 86-66. SCSU beat UND in the regional final last year. BGMR's Kierah Kimbrough had 17 to lead UND. Duluth East's Erika Quigley had 24 for SCSU.

OTHER ACTION
Hillsdale hummed its way to a 74-51 win over Saginaw Valley State.

St. Scholastica knocked over UW River Falls 57-50

Ripon ripped Illinois College 67-59 from the Fond du Lac Reporter.

Hope College won #42 in a row. This time the victim was Adrian 82-47. From the Grand Rapids Press.

Calvin tossed Albion 84-60 also from the GR Press.

NAIA
Davenport won their 10th in a row with a 83-63 win over Madonna.

Mayville State is 12th in the NAIA D2 poll, up two from the week before. Other area teams included in the list are Northwestern IA #4; Minot State #6; Mount Marty #10; Morningside #17; Cardinal Stritch #21; Black Hills State #22; and Davenport #23.

JUCO
Madison Area Tech beat Central Lakes on Wednesday 51-46. From the Brainerd Dispatch.

Northwestern IA JV defeated MN West 78-57. From the Worthington Daily Globe.

LYNX NEWS
Everyone is wishing and hoping former Gopher Janel McCarville comes back and plays for the Lynx. from the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
She may bring a few more fans back for awhile, but the Lynx should really check out the best player available. Tangela Smith is 6-4 and averaged 13.1 ppg and 5.3 rpg last year. McCarville had 4.5 ppg and 3.5 rpg.

Next up: an out and about. maybe two.
