HS TRANSFERS

HERE & THERE
After the Roosevelt/Kingsland game I went to Taco John's. When I got there Gary Gillis, former coach at Storden-Jeffers, and Red Rock Central was there. He was there watching Cedar Mountain-Comfrey. His son in law Ken Thiesen is the head coach at CMC. This is the first year that Cedar Mountain and Comfrey are paired. They have at least 7 returning starters.

Back in the day when I was involved with the Osseo program and we were involved in the sweet 16 the coaching staff would always squirm. We were always second guessing every move our own coach was making. That tradition is alive and well.

THINGS TO COME
In the summer of '96 Osseo had a team loaded with talent, big and physical, but they lost in the quarterfinals in the sweet 16 to Barnum, a class A team. That set the tone for the entire year, and we never really achieved what we were capable of.
On the flip side in the summer of '99 Osseo won the Sweet 16 with a core group that got along. They didn't bring a lot of players up, in fact they only had six. That group went on to win the 2000 AAAA title in March.
Much of what happens in the Sweet 16 can be a harbinger of things to come.

So tomorrow's games are set up like this
5th place consolation
Nicollet vs Minneapolis South
Barnesville vs Kingsland

consolation semifinals
DeLaSalle vs Crookston
St. Paul Central vs Ada-Borup

5th place bracket
Rogers vs Winona Cotter
Fulda vs Minneapolis Roosevelt

Semifinals
Hopkins vs Cedar Mountain-Comfrey
Becker vs Champlin Park

For those of you expecting a Lynx offense tonight, I am postponing that until tomorrow morning.

Next up: Lynx offense and general news in the morning with the final results from the sweet 16 later in the day.
