END OF FALL BALL?
The 6th District court of appeals has ruled that the Michigan High School Athletic Association discriminates female athletes by having their basketball and volleyball seasons switched with the rest of the country. The ruling won't affect the 2006-07 year. This is an AP story posted on the Duluth News Tribune. The Detroit News talks about the MHSAA's vow to carry on the fight.

ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

Kala Kuhlmann has been named female athlete of the year by the Des Moines Register and Sioux City Journal. These are two different awards with similar results and one winner. Her team won the 1A title in 2005. This year's team lost in the state semifinals. She will be headed to Nebraska.

JOLENE ANDERSON
Now that the 20u experience is over Jolene Anderson, Wisconsin she takes some time to go over future plans in an interview with the University of Wisconsin web site.
