CHAMPLIN PARK WINS SWEET 16
Champlin Park won the Sweet 16 title with a 70-60 win over Class A Cedar Mountain-Comfrey. It was the first time a Class A team made it to the finals. CP beat CMC last week in the MN inviational semifinals held at St. Benedict's. It was the second straight title for CP in as many weeks. At least the last four winners of the Sweet 16 have made the finals of the State tournament in March. Last year the 2nd place team won it all (Hopkins). If the method holds true it is a good omen for both teams. More on this game on Thursday

Champlin Park beat Becker 72-57 or was it 70-59, in the semifinals. Becker had a 19-9 lead in the first quarter. CP took the lead at 46-44 right before the end of the 3rd quarter. Three consecutive (not possessions) 3s in the 4th quarter took the game from 50-48 CP to 59-52 CP. More on this game on Wednesday

CMC shocked Hopkins 47-43 in the other game. CMC was 21/29 at the line in that contest while Hopkins was 8/17. Hopkins didn't help their cause with 17 turnovers. Extra bonus coverage of this game on Wednesday.

IS SHE OR ISN'T SHE?
In the Minneapolis Roosevelt progam Talisha Barlow was listed on the roster. She never was at the Sweet 16. She was at Roseville last year. An interested party at the tournament said Barlow is to remain at Roseville. This is an interesting situation.

Cedar Mountain-Comfrey won the Marshall Summer League and their own.
Crookston won the Grand Forks summer League. They also took 2nd place in the Mandan Tournament.
