Vanessa Johnson, West Central 2009, has made an early verbal to South Dakota State. The 5-9 guard averaged 19 ppg last year. The Sioux Falls Argus Leader has more.

Natalie Taylor, DePere has made a verbal to Southern Illinois. Minnesota was one of the schools interested according to the article in the Green Bay Press-Gazette. The 5-10 forward helped DePere win the Wisconsin D1 title (biggest school) two years ago.

The Michigan Coaches All Star game took place last weekend, and the Black won 84-61 in the AB division. Melissa Jeltema of Grand Rapids Christian won the MVP award. She will at Oakland in the fall. Here is the Grand Rapids Press with more details.
Another story from the All Star game is the Grandville combination of 6-8 Allysa DeHaan and coach Charlie DeRyke together for one last hurrah. Again the GR Press.

The 20u USA team had no problems in a 124-38 shredding of host Mexico. Jolene Anderson, Wisconsin had 15 points. There is more stats, quotes and schedules at the USA site. The Magic, an 18u Upper Peninsula team won the Delfin basketball tournament in Tampere Finland. They defeated the defending champ and European 2006 champion Nokia of Finland 48-36. More in the story from the Marquette Minning Journal.
