IOWA REPORT-NO FOOLING
IOWA AAU JUNIOR ELIGIBLE STATE TOURNAMENT
The Iowa AAU ran their State tournament this weekend and I went down to Des Moines Hoover for the bracket play today with coach Teas. The Iowa HS season ended on March 10, and they were playing for the right to go to nationals today. Many teams have had only one practice. Not all teams were at full strength, but the show went on.

The big 3 teams all advanced to the nationals, but there were a few surprises. In the Semifinals it was Iowa Elite I pulling the upset over the bigger All Iowa Attack 62-60. AIA has four players 6-2 or bigger including one player that has verballed Iowa State (Amanda Zimmerman, Ballard). AIA came back to win the third place game (with no real rest between games) over Iowa Lady Gators 82-63. In the championship it was IBCA Select I over Iowa Elite I 68-55. IBCA Select I has their own player that has already verballed---Kelly Krei of Iowa City to Iowa.
