BETHEL TOURNAMENT pool play
TEAM XTREME 47, COUGARS 17

The older, physically bigger, and stronger Team Xtreme defeated the Cougars in the 16/15 division at Bethel.

Team Xtreme scored on their first two possessions with a rebound basket by Caitlyn Hennessey and then a three by Deanna Mattson. TX left no doubt to the outcome with a 16-0 run to start the game. The Cougars went 13 possessions without scoring to open the game. Laura Maltby scored the first points at the line for the Cougars. Elle Abeler had a hot hand for TX with two from long distance, a rebound basket and one free throw for 9 points at half time. TX led 26-5 at half.

It was more of the same in the second half. The Cougars were held scoreless on their first seven possessions. TX added seven more to their totals while the Cougars struggled on offense. But TX also had their problems with an eight possession drought in the middle of the second half. The Cougars did have one sequence late in the contest where they scored on four of five possessions. But their fate was sealed in the opening half. TX won the half 21-12 and the game 47-17.

COUGARS
In general: everybody needs to handle the ball better, have better vision, and be more aware of trap situations. When without the ball, players need to make themselves available so that the ball can see them.
