Minnesota put a scare into #4 Ohio State before falling 70-67. The Gophers led by 9 with less than 9 minutes to go. The Pioneer Press has more on the near miss, as does the MN Daily about not holding on to the lead. It was Jessica Davenport and her triple double that caught the StarTribune's attention. St. Paul Central's Ashley Ellis-Milan had 17 for Minnesota.
Purdue downed Illinois 69-57. Johnston, IA's Lori Bjork had 11 for Illinois. Bloomington Kennedy's Jenna Smith sat out due to team violations according to the Illinois site.
Iowa snapped a 6 game home losing streak with a 66-49 win over Michigan. Also from the Des Moines Register. The Michigan Daily wrote about the play of Kristi Smith, and they also talked about the domino effect. Osseo's Krista VandeVenter had 8 for Iowa. Lansing Sexton's Ta'Shia Walker led Michigan with 10.
Michigan State beat Northwestern 55-48. The State News talks of Northwestern giving MSU fits. Mpls North's Mia Johnson had 15 to lead MSU. Breck's Melissa Miller had 4 for NW.
Wisconsin beat Indiana 60-53. The Milwaukee Journal credits the defense. The Wisconsin State Journal's headline said "ugly win sweet." The Capital Times talks of the revenge factor. South Shore's Jolene Anderson had 20 for Wisconsin. Marshfield's Jamie Braun had 16 for Indiana.

Illinois Chicago burned Wright State 63-55. Holy Angels' Jessie Miller led UIC with 14.
Youngstown State iced Detroit 58-52. Benilde's Chanica Hall had four for Detroit.

North Dakota State downed IPFW 89-72. Austin's Lisa Bue had 20 to lead NDSU.
South Dakota State sliced and diced NJIT 96-30. St. Peter's Megan Vogel had 25 for SDSU.

Evansville aced Northern Iowa 75-49. Ottumwa's Jessie Biggs had 19 for UNI.

New Mexico passed by Utah 73-65. Roseville's Amy Beggin had 5 for New Mexico.

Eastern Illinois downed Austin Peay 79-61. Tartan's Jacki Goetzke had 2 for APSU.

Santa Clara cruised by Portland 90-73. Plainview's Anne Graner had five for Portland.

Drake's Lindsay Whorton was named to the Academic all-District VII women's basketball team. From the Des Moines Register.

Augustana upset North Dakota 75-67. It was Augie's second win in Grand Forks in 20 years. West Central, SD's Whitney Hofer had 20 to lead Augustana. BGMR's Kierah Kimbrough had 22 for UND. UND had 10 more turnovers than Augustana.
Willmar's Alison Adamson, Augustana, not only has a high ppg, but a high gpa. She has been named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII First Team.
South Dakota beat MSU Mankato 77-59. Mitchell's Jeana Hoffman had 23 for USD. Albany's Joanne Noreen had 14 for MSU Mankato.
St. Cloud State slipped by UN Omaha 69-67. St. Cloud Tech's Kayla Rengel hit the game winner for SCSU. Litchfield's Jackie Carlson had 25 for SCSU.
