Out & About: Bemidji/Rocori

#7 posting 1.13.2007
your daily dose of girls basketball news & information

BEMIDJI lumberjacks 56, ROCORI spartans 31
I saw this game because, #1 it was close to St. Benedict's where the Cotter/Crookston game was taking place. #2 it was at 1 pm, and the Cotter/Crookston game started at 3:30 giving me a good chance to get to the game. #3. Bemidji doesn't get down in this part of the state too often. I had seen Rocori during the Sartell tournament earlier.

Both teams scored on their first possessions, but then went into offensive hibernation with Bemidji going 8 possessions without finding the bottom of the basket. Bemidji pushed their lead to 12-7 after a rebound basket by Brianna Pfremmer who had half of the Bemidji points. Rocori had a 6-0 run to claim their last lead at 13-12. Rocori then had their 8 possession drought. Bemidji closed out the half with a 14-4 run and led 26-16 at the break.

The second half saw no major movements except for a larger margin for Bemidji. Neither team scored the last 3:24 of the game.
