Gophers Beat Illinois, Ohio State Dodges Iowa

BIG 10 ACTION
The Gophers picked up their first Big 10 win over Illinois 70-61 after trailing by 10 in the second half. Fosston's Kelly Roysland had a career high 27 points for MN. There were lessons learned according to the Pioneer Press.

Ohio State escaped with a 73-67 win over Iowa. A brief blink turned a OSU one point lead into an 8 point game. Also reports from the Des Moines Register. Osseo's Krista VandeVenter had 11 for Iowa.

Michigan State defeated Wisconsin 56-46. The Capital Times uses the word "stumble" in their headlines as Wisconsin led in the second half. Mpls North's Mia Johnson had 10 for MSU.

Indiana handed Michigan a 71-58 loss.

Purdue ripped Penn State 70-44.

MISSOURI VALLEY ACTION
Illinois State downed Drake 64-50.

Indiana State defeated Creighton 89-62. Eastview's Michelle Kaus had 7, and Mpls North's Tyrai Bronson did not score for Creighton.

OTHER D1 ACTION
Marquette did not take South Dakota State lightly in a 80-63 win in Brookings. The Marquette win snapped a 15 game home winning streak for SDSU. St. Peter's Megan Vogel led SDSU with 20. Marquette's Krystal Ellis of Racine St. Catherine's led all scorers with a career high 33.

Yale beat Quinnipiac 81-64. Hopkins' Kaitlynn Lillemoe had 2 for Yale.

Army beat Central Connecticut State 77-64

Denver beat Farliegh Dickinson 67-58. Breck's Megan Givens and Bloomington Kennedy's Ashly Robinson did not score, but played for Denver.

Texas Christian ripped UMKC 68-45. Wayzata's Jowan Ortega had 8, and St. Paul Central's Marta Waalen had 4 for UMKC.

Augustana beat SW MN State 78-43. It was Augustana's 15th straight win.

South Dakota pounded Chadron State 90-46

St. Cloud State beat North Tartan Elite 79-74 in an exhibition. Duluth East's Erika Quigley had 25 points for SCSU.

Wesleyan CT edged St. Scholastica 66-64
