SIGNINGS
Michigan State added Taylor Johnson of Highlands Ranch in Colorado to their 2008 signing class. From WLIX.

Marleigh Kuchar of Lakota, ND is headed to MSU Bottineau. The 5-10 forward averaged 8.6 ppg for the Raiders. From the Devils Lake Journal.

ALL AMERICANS
Parade magazine has come out with their High School All American Team. No players from the coverage area made the 4 team, 40 player list.

COACHING NEWS
Hankinson, North Dakota is looking into a complaint against coach Shawn Gravalin. Gravalin's team finished 3rd in the ND B class this winter and had a 21-7 record on the year. From the Fargo Forum.

Todd Magnuson will be the new Minot girls basketball coach. From the Minot Daily News.

UW Green Bay has hired Amanda Leonhard as an assistant coach. Leonhard is a UWGB grad and was an assistant the past three years at North Dakota State.

TOURNAMENT ACTION
NE Judds CSS 15U (Cornhusker Shooting Stars) girls basketball is at the Deep South Classic in Raleigh, NC held at the campuses of North Carolina, Duke, and NC State.
The Judds are currently 2-0 and in the top 8 of all U15 teams (playing 16u Select). Tomorrow they will play the New York Explosion in the quarterfinals held at Duke Cameron Stadium (main court, same place Duke Men play!)

Game 2 NE Judds CSS 59 15's- Connecticut Breeze 53

NE Bison CSS 17U lost a heart breaker 46-44 in a first round to the MN NC Heat in a game that had many lead changes, and the Bison team missed two layups as the buzzer expired that would have sent the game into overtime.
Bison then had an exhibition game against the California Sparks that they won 66-41. They are currently 1-1 for the tournament.

ECI is holding their Spring tournament in Wahpeton today. There is a girls tournament there too, but the paper zeros in on the boys. From the Wahpeton Daily News.

AWARDS
Oakland passed out awards and Nicole Piggott of Pewamo-Westphalia won a Wilson Award.

St. Joseph's passed out their awards and Amy Wold of Cedar Rapids Kennedy was the most improved player.

New Mexico has honored their academic athletes. Amy Beggin (Roseville) and Jessica Kielpinski (Mandan) both received honors.

Concordia St. Paul passed out their awards and Candace Olstad will be captain next season.

Northern Michigan passed out their awards and Allison Carroll of Rhinelander, WI was the MVP
