ALL STAR WEEKEND
The 2A All Stars beat the 4A All Stars 87-70 tonight in the second game of the All Star series. The 2As used balance scoring with four players in double figures compared to one for the 4As. The 2As also used the 3 bomb nine times to the three for the 4As, plus they could run the floor just as well and had plenty in transition.
Kiara Buford had 20 points to lead all scorers for the 4As. Leading the way for the 2As was Angie Jetvig of Hawley with 17. Becca Friestleben had 15 (all on 3s) and Jenny Gilbertson also had 15 for the 2As.
Earlier in the night the 3As beat the 1As 71-53. The 3As broke away after the score got to 26-25. It was 36-25 at the half.
This sets up the finals tomorrow at St. Thomas where either the 2As or the 3As will win their first title.
This was the first year in the class series that the 4As were beat in the first round.
Obviously I will do detailed out & abouts later in the week.

MENOMONIE
Earlier in the day I headed to Menomonie, Wisconsin to check in on the tournament there. The focus was to be on teams I had not seen yet. It was a good day for Minnesota teams over Wisconsin as the day started off with Southern Minne Elite beating Team WI Sr Black in double overtime 45-43 on Renee Pecarina's shot.
My first game I charted was 43 Hoops Zuck beat Team WI Red White-Gud 50-38
Next came The Fury with a 43-30 win over Team WI Red Wildberg 43-30.
The third Minnesota win was Metro Stars White over Fox Valley Hustle 55-37.
And the fourth Minnesota team to pull off a win was Southern Minne Elite over Team WI Red 15 49-36. These were the four games I charted and will go over in detail in the week to come.

Also I caught the tail end of Metro Stars 15s over Fury 62-59. Metro Stars trailed in this contest late, but rallied and held on for the win. Erica Gress scored the go ahead basket for the MS15s.

VERBALS/SIGNINGS
Here are some of the signings I heard today
