This game took place on 5.7.2006
Minnesota AAU 16u Qualifier
Triple Threat 62, Southern Minne Magic 31
The SMM actually led in this game (4-2) but that did not last very long. As was true all day, both teams struggled to get an offensive rythym going. SMM had a six drought early, TT did them one better with 7, five of which were turnovers. SMM had two more droughts of six. TT went on an extended 16-4 run. The half ended with Triple Threat up 28-15.
The game was not going to change that much in the second half. TT had a better time stringing together possessions. They had a five possession string in a 12-1 run. Kachine Alexander had five points during this stretch as did Patrice Thomas. The only real hot streak and bright spot in a rather dismal day for SMM was Leslie Wilson's seven straight points in the middle of the second half.

BY THE NUMBERS
Triple Threat 62, 69, 89.9, .435
Southern Minne Magic 31, 68, 45.6, .250
The only magic in this game belonged to the Triple Threat. SMM only scored four baskets in the second half. SMM had no answer for the team speed and athleticism of Triple Threat.
Other games of note that day
Minnesota Stars beat SUGAA 70-59. The game wasn't that close in the second half as the Stars had over 20 point leads. I had about a half eye on this game. I was positioned between the Stars game and Triple Threat. I couldn't do stats on both. I will get to do the stats for MN Stars at some point in the next few weeks.
Also Kelly Mullaney hit a 3 with less than five seconds to go to lead NT 19u to a 50-49 win over MN Stars 19u. The MN Stars beat NT two weeks before. This was the game to watch, but since the 19s are bought and paid for I opted for the 16s.
Next up: tomorrow afternoon; on Saturday a rating of the HS jobs available; Sunday a recap of the AAU/HS differences and who delivered on the 7th.
