In a battle between two evenly matched teams, MSA outlasted NT 58-53. MSA led early 10-2 led by Micha Sater's 5 points, and Rey Robinson who was four for four at the line. NT was in an 0/8 funk with five missed shots, including three misses from behind the arc. NT did go on a 11-3 run to cut the MSA lead to 15-13. Hannah Linz had four points during the stretch. Jesse Althoff had a flurry of points as she scored 7 straight points on three possessions for MSA. She started with a rebound basket, got fouled and made the free throw, again next possession she scored on a put back, the last possession she scored on a feed from Sater as she posted up. Brea Tinney finished the MSA 9-2 run with a steal and lay up. Jaime Birr had her own burst of points with six of NT's points. She scored twice on lay ups. Her second lay up put NT up 28-26. MSA had one last basket by Keely Schuenke to end the half all knotted up 28-28.

Samantha Larsen gave NT the lead 30-28 to start the half, but Rey Robinson dropped the 3 bomb to get MSA the lead right away. There were seven ties in the half, the last coming at 49. Robinson again dropped a trey from the top of the circle to put MSA up 52-49. After Lillemoe missed her 3, Robinson's HS teammate Althoff scored on an out of bounds play to push the lead to 54-49. Brea Tinney added two free throws two possessions later as MSA pulled out to a 56-49 lead. NT still had some fight left as there was 57.1 seconds to go. Katie Pettit drove in for a lay up with 45.5 ticks left, and Linz scored on a second chance basket with 28.3 seconds left to make it 56-53. Both teams failed to convert on their next two possessions, but with 5.5 seconds left Tinney dropped in two more free throws to make it a 58-53 final.

BY THE NUMBERS
Team, points, possessions, pp100, floor %
MN Stars Antl 58, 69, 84.1, .391
North Tartan 53, 69, 76.8, .406
NT actually had a better floor % game than MSA, but ended up with five less points. Why? 9/21 (43%) shooting is not going to win too many games. MSA was slightly better, but still not great at 14/22 (63.6%).
