MSB 16s Bumps Off Sister 19s

Today I went to the Minneapolis Midtown Y to watch the 16u tournament and the Metro Stars Black 16s had a big win over their sister 19s team 42-40. Elle Queen, Minnetonka drove the right side, was hit, scored and made the free throw for the win. More in the next post in about an hour and a half.

HAWAIIAN PLAYOFFS

Roosevelt won their first OIA tournament since 1982 with a 52-33 win over Kalaheo. It appears they will be the 2 seed next week in the state tournament. Article is from the Honolulu Advertiser
Kamehameha had a huge comeback win over Iolani 45-40. They outscored Iolani 26-10 in the 4th quarter to advance to state. Story in the Honolulu Star Bulletin
Kalani won the OIA White (D2) title over 'Aiea 49-41. Again the story is from the Advertiser
BIG ISLAND
D1 Kona beat Hilo 42-37 to advance to the state tournament.
D2 Kamehameha trounced Hawaii Preparatory Academy 47-17. Both stories in the Hawaii Tribune Herald You may have to register for this one, but it is free.

Tim Jacobson, former boys coach at Fargo Shanley, has been named the new girls coach at the same school. Jacobson also coached the boys at Roseville, MN in 2001. Story is from the Fargo Forum.

Stacy Williams has been named the new coach at Stoughton. Williams went to HS at Madison West and was captain in 1982 when they won the state tournament.
