Height in HS & Winning part 1

Height in HS & Winning
This is a look at the role of height and winning. I will go through the games I have seen and the starting line up averaged out
Hopkins: 5-10.2 vs St. Paul Central: 5-9.8. Not much of a difference but Hopkins is bigger, Hopkins won
Concordia Roseville 5-8.2 vs Meadow Creek 5-9. In this case the smaller team won
Rogers 5-8.6 vs Elk River 5-9, closer, but still the smaller team won.
Roosevelt 5-9.2 vs Washburn 5-8.6, bigger team won series now at 2-2
St. Paul Johnson 5-7.8 vs Armstrong 5-10. Armstrong with a two inch advantage does not win 2-3
Woodbury 5-9.4 vs Bloomington Jefferson 5-9.4 same size goes to Woodbury, 2-3
Irondale 5-8.8 vs St. Francis 5-8.6 ever so slight Irondale is on top 3-3
Eastview 5-10.2 vs Rochester Century 5-8.8 over an inch 4-3
Roseville 5-8.2 vs Rochester Mayo 5-9.4 small team wins 4-4
Rochester JM 5-8.6 vs Lakeville North 5-7.2 LN smaller until Rochel enters game 4-5
Rochester Lourdes 5-9.6 vs Osseo 5-8.8 bigger wins and ties it 5-5
St. Paul Central 5-9.8 vs White Bear Lake 5-8.8 bigger is in the lead 6-5
DeLaSalle 5-9.8 vs Andover 5-9 another win for big 7-5
Minneapolis South 5-8.4 vs Rogers 5-9 one small step 7-6
Elk River 5-8.8 vs St. Cloud Tech 5-8.4 ever so slight 8-6
We will look at the other games later but Big is ahead 8-6-- not that great of an advantage.
Biggest Lineups
Eastview, Hopkins 5-10.2
Armstrong 5-10
DeLaSalle, St. Paul Central 5-9.8
All these teams have a big guard on the floor. It is not necessarily the huge post. Only Eastview and DeLaSalle have 6-2 centers out of this group. The big guard is a bonus on defense with longer arms that smaller guards have a problem with.
