WHICH MN HS CONFERENCE IS THE BEST?
It depends on what you are talking about.
Looking at the information I have been charting from the games I have seen this season: not all the information is complete
Conference, # of teams seen/total, ppg, possessions, pp100, scoring %
Classic Lake, 4/5, 61.3, 66.8, 91.6, .455 (Minnetonka not charted)
Lake 7/11, 54.4, 64.3, 84.7, .416 (Burnsville, Eagan, Eden Prairie, Chaska not charted)
Suburban East 7/9, 53.4, 68.6, 77.7, .383 (Hastings, Forest Lake not charted)
I have not charted enough teams in the NW Suburban to get an acurate look.
At this point the Classic Lake has higher scoring teams, scores better at 100 possessions, and has the most effective offenses.
The Classic Lake, on average, is 13.9 higher than the SE Suburban, and 6.9 higher than the Lake.
The Suburban East plays at a slightly faster pace at 68.6 possessions.

The average for all games I have charted are 54.9 points, 66.2 possessions, 82.9 pp100, .398 scoring %.

Looking at who goes on to D1 programs:
The Lake had 8 players rostered in the 2005 season. Minneapolis and the Suburban East also had 8. The TriMetro had 7, and the Classic Lake had 5.
For starters, the Classic Lake provide three: Christy Erickson (Wayzata) Creighton; Jowan Ortega (Wayzata) UMKC; April Calhoun (Armstrong) Minnesota. The Lake also provide three: Ashley Brenden (Jefferson) Butler; Jaime Broback (Eastview) Minnesota; Annika Walseth (Jefferson) Colorado State. Walseth is no longer rostered at Colorado State. Carolyn Kieger (Roseville) Marquette and Amber Wirth (Hastings) Long Island started from the Suburban East. Krista VandeVenter (Osseo) Iowa was the only player from the NW Suburban.
Kieger is the only player to be AC from these conferences.
For D2 the NW Suburban had 8, Big Independents 7, and Lake 6.
The Lake had 4 starters last year: Tasha Martin (Lakeville) UM Duluth; Laura Jones (Bloomington Jefferson) Seattle; Alana Wahl (Lakeville) MSU Mankato; Josie Lidke (Chaska) Franklin Pierce. The NW Suburban also had four starters: Carly and Kayla Christenson (Elk River) Concordia St. Paul; Lindsey Dietz (Elk River) UM Duluth; Heather Peterson (Blaine) MSU Mankato. The Classic Lake and Suburban East had none. The Elk River trio were AC.
Overall the Lake is on top with 14, NW Suburban 12, Suburban East 12, Classic Lake 9.
