SEEDING
The State High School League took one step forward and one step back yesterday. Now all the State tournament sports will be seeded, but only to the fourth seed. From the StarTribune.
My Take:
Apparently some teams will be traumitzed by being the 8th seed. Their season will be a complete waste. Or maybe they are trying to protect the #1 seed from the humiliation of being beat by the #8 seed. That can happen and did happen last year in South Dakota where Sioux Falls Roosevelt beat Brandon Valley, a team they beat by 20+ during the year.
Get over yourselves. Rank the teams 1-8. Or if you rank only 1-4 in the state, rank 1-4 in the sections and have a "blind" draw in sections too. It seems no one cares about the sniff, sniff "feewings" sniff, sniff of the #12 seed in the sections. Be consistent. Have some guts. Do the right thing.

AAU VS HS
The StarTribune has their final installment in their round table with a examination of the AAU/High School dynamic.
