1AA EAST SUBSECTION SEMIFINALS
CALEDONIA warriors 46, LA CRESCENT lancers 23

The #1 East seed Caledonia used their pressure defense to secure a spot in the subsection finals 46-23. Caledonia advances to the 1AA East final with a 24-3 record. LaCrescent finishes the year 17-10.

Neither team had success early. Caledonia went to their 8th possession before Cassie Gran made one free throw. The story of the first half was the frigid offense of LaCrescent. They opened the game with 12 possession drought. After a 3 by mysterious #23. LaCrescent immediately sunk back into an 11 possession drought. So it was a 1/24 start for LaCrescent---a 12.5 pp100 rate and a dismal floor percentage of .042. The droughts weren't over either. The Lancers endured another 9 possession drought. Caledonia used their high intenstity pressure to good effect, however their offensive performance did not match their defensive show. They were 65.0 pp100. They did have five straight scores to go up 8-0. At half it was 26-10 Caledonia.

The second half didn't change much. The shooting struggles continued. LaCrescent had droughts of 7, 6, and 8. Dry spells weren't limited to LaCrescent. Caledonia had droughts of 6, and another 6. There was no mystery in the outcome. The fact was there wasn't a lot of scoring in the half court game.
