BIG 10
Penn State beat Georgetown 56-47. Janessa Wolff (Park Rapids) did not score for Penn State.
Wisconsin beat Air Force 74-60. Danielle Ward (Milwaukee King) led the Badgers with 14. Tara Steinbauer (Bloomington Kennedy) had 13 and Alyssa Karel (Cretin-Derham Hall) had 7 for Wisconsin. The Capital Times thought the Badgers did not look crisp.
Wyoming beat Iowa 54-50 to win the Hawkeye Challenge. Wendy Ausdemore (TriCenter, IA) had 8 for the Hawkeyes. Neither Krista VandeVenter (Osseo) or Kachine Alexander (Benilde-St. Margaret's) scored for Iowa. The Cedar Rapids Gazette looks at Iowa's lack of gas in the tank. It was the "one that slipped away" according to the Des Moines Register.
Kansas beat Indiana 69-61. Jamie Braun (Marshfield, WI) had 8 for Indiana. Kelly Kohn (Adrian, MI) had 4 for Kansas.
MIDWEST
Iowa State beat Drake 58-51. Nicky Wieben (Ankeny) led ISU with 16. Amanda Nisleit (Woodbury) had 11 also for ISU. Lauren Dybing (St. Croix Lutheran) had 1 for Drake. 58 is Iowa State's lucky number says the Des Moines Register.
Northern Illinois beat St. Joseph's 90-82 for 3rd place in the Hawkeye Challenge. Amy Wold (Cedar Rapids Kennedy) had 2 for St. Joseph's.
EAST
Loyola MD beat Canisius 55-53. Brittanie Russell (Southfield-Lathrup, MI) had 16 for Canisius.
MD Baltimore County beat Northern Iowa 74-72. Nicole Clausen (Denison-Schleswig) had 18 for UNI.
American beat Fordham 65-51. Talicia Jackson (DeLaSalle) had 10 for American.
SOUTH
Louisville beat Xavier 67-45. Brandie Radde (Niles, MI) had 5 for Louisville.
Maryland beat Temple 64-46. Shenita Landry (Milwaukee King) had 10 for Temple.
WEST
Colorado beat Vanderbilt 62-51. Hannah Skildum (Mounds View) had 2 for Colorado. Amy Malo (Fairmont) did not score for Fairmont.
Boise State beat Washington State 71-64. BSU was 16 down in the second half. Sierra Moeller (Pierre, SD) had 3 for Boise State.
San Francisco beat San Jose State 74-51. Natalie White (Dubuque Senior) had 11 for SJS.
TRANSFER
Gillian Bjerke (Pelican Rapids) is transferring from Iowa State to Concordia St. Paul. She will start classes at CSP next semester.
