Illinois opened their Big 10 season with a 58-44 win over Northwestern. Lori Bjork (Johnston, IA) had 13 for Illinois. Jenna Smith (Bloomington Kennedy) added 11 for the Illini. Melissa Miller (Breck) had 2 for Northwestern.

Gustavus beat #24 UW Eau Claire 65-60 in the Surf N' Slam tournament in Point Loma Nazarene, California. Jess Vadnais (Hudson, WI) had 20 for Gustavus. Heidi Arciszewski (Thorp, WI) had 14 for UWEC.

UW River Falls beat Point Loma Nazarene 56-51.
