NEWS OF THE DAY
AWARDS
Jenna Smith of Illinois (Bloomington Kennedy) was named player of the week for the third time this year in the Big 10.

Rachel Porath of UW Green Bay (Luxemburg-Casco) was named player of the week for the second week in a row in the Horizon Conference and third overall.

Ashley Langen of North Dakota (Kittson Central) was named player of the week in the North Central Conference. It is her 6th honor.

ACL INJURIES
Toccara Ross of Iowa State (Davenport Central) will be out the rest of the year with an ACL injury.

TOURNAMENTS

STREAK OVER
Johnston, Iowa broke a six game losing streak last Friday with a 50-45 overtime win over Urbandale. From the Des Moines Register.

SPIRIT OF THE SEASON

MICHIGAN REVIEW
Detroit Community gets the spot light in the Detroit News. They are 8-0 after a tough part of their schedule.

ACHIEVEMENTS
The Clayton, Wisconsin girls basketball team won their 68th straight regular season game December 21st by defeating St Croix Falls 68-27 behind Brittni Hover's 21 points. Hover also hit four threes which put her over 200 for her career.

Georgie Jones of St. Paul Central, Megan Corradi of Chisago Lakes, Madeline Ehrich of Concordia Bloomington, and Jackie Voigt of Park-Cottage Grove have been named playmakers in the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
