TUESDAY AFTERNOON GRAB BAG

TOURNAMENTS PART 1

tournament, # of teams, teams, when, records involved, rating *****
Woodbury, 5, Mpls South, Prior Lake, Armstrong, North St. Paul, Thursday-Friday 18-12 not really a tournament, but an event South vs Woodbury would have been even more interesting, but with Hintz out becomes less so. ***
New York Mills, 4, Battle Lake, Sebeka, Browerville Friday-Saturday 15-5 **
Adrian, 4, Red Rock Central, TMB, Wabasso, Friday-Saturday 12-9 **
Lester Prairie, 4, Belle Plaine, Nicollet, Mound-Westonka, Monday-Tuesday 13-12 **
Verndale, 4, Menahga, ?, ?, Tuesday & Thursday 7-4 *
Bertha-Hewitt, 4, Brandon-Evansville, Henning, Osakis, Thursday-Friday 7-11 *
McGregor, 4, Ogilvie, Pillager, ?, Monday-Tuesday 4-13 no stars

On Sunday's The Week that Was I will be rating the tournaments for the upcoming week.

The Rochester Rotary tournament already gets a preview in the Rochester Post Bulletin. It just may happen no Rochester schools advance to the semis. The last time a Rochester school won it all was 1997.

GAME CHANGE
The Eastview/Eden Prairie game has been changed to Thursday, December 20

MASTEY VS HEGNA
Briana Mastey is closing in on a Becker School Record
Here is an interesting stat that doesn't happen very often.
Becker's Brianna Mastey has 1,606 points in career. She has officially signed with University of Minnesota. Brianna is already the all time leading scorer on the girls side. Now she is closing in on the School's All Time Scoring Record. That record is held by her Head Coach Justin Hegna, who has held the record since 1991. Brianna is just 37 points shy of this record (1643).
