AUSTIN packers 58, VISITATION blazers 42

In the second AAA Metro Catholic vs AAA Outstate contest it was the outstaters winning 58-42. Austin used their full court press to harass the Blazers. Austin joined the AAA top 10 list this week.

Both teams got off to a slow start, but Austin soon found their stride with their full court press. The press caused Vis headaches all night. Vis had an 8 possession drought with 7 of those possessions ending in turnovers due to the pressure. Austin had a 10-0 run to lead 19-8. However the Packers weren't immune to poor offense. They had an 11 possession drought toward the end of the first half, five of which were turnovers. At half time it was 28-14 after a buzzer beating three by Tina Vorpahl. She was fouled as well, but didn't make the free throw.

Again both teams got off to a slow start after half time. Austin was 1/9 to start the half. Vis only had four points and didn't really make up any ground. Austin snapped out of their offensive stalemate with four straight scores and soon the lead was back out to 37-20. Austin's largest lead came at 55-32 with four minutes left. They finished off with a 1/7 possession string as Vis cut the margin to 16 at the end.
