trend that needs fixing in basketball
recruiting and transferring in high school basketball. The most common question asked in the basketball world every spring is, “Who is going to be good next year?” The question is asked hundreds of times at all levels including high school and college. Earlier in my coaching career, the answer was usually simple. You looked at returning starters, schedule strength, coaching and made an educated guess. The recent trend of recruiting and transferring in Iowa High School Basketball is making answering that question nearly impossible. In the past couple years I have been forced to answer that question this way, “Ask me in October when we see where all the transfers and recruits end up.”

most memorable game you coached.
State Semi-Final vs. Dubuque Wahlert

most painful loss
Regional Final 2002 vs. Clear Lake, double OT loss by 1 with 17 footer as buzzer sounded.
