COACHING NEWS
Lon Boike has been approved by the Crookston school board as the new Crookston girls basketball coach. From the Crookston Times.

HALL OF FAME
Former Flint Powers Catholic coach Kathy McGee is heading to the Michigan High School Coaches' Association Hall of Fame. From the Flint Journal.

SCHEDULES
Air Force, Iowa State, Northern Illinois, Santa Clara, UTEP, and Western Michigan have released their 2008-09 schedules.

COACHING CLINIC

SKILL NIGHT
Minnesota Stars have added a skill night to their October 4th shootout. Their shootout is a one day event with over 100 girls getting together to showcase their skills for college coaches. It will be held at Bloomington Kennedy activity center, Friday night the 3rd of October from 7-9. The event was added for all girls registered for the shootout for a chance to sharpen their skills and improve their techniques. A Basketball training clinic will be put on by two training organization. MN School of Basketball and Hoopology. These are two of the best training organization in Minnesota. Mark Smith President of the Stars said he is excited about adding this added value to the girls and is confident this will get them ready for the High School season. 3 ON 3
Maranatha Christian will hold a 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament on Saturday, October 11 from 7 am to 4 pm.

Entry Fee: $85 per team. includes t shirt. four players per team. Team captains must submit full amount of payment on behalf of the team. Please wear matching shirts.
Deadline: Final registration deadline is October 6. Return registration with entry fee.
Who: participants must be in 7th, 8th and 9th grades.
