INJURY
Roseville senior Devyn Smith tore her ACL in her other knee (she missed the majority of the 2007 AAU season and was out until Christmas with the first knee). She is most likely out for the year. She injured it playing soccer.

COACHING NEWS
Stu Hendrickson has been named the new girls basketball coach here at United South Central.

Don Waletich will be the new girls basketball coach at Fairmont. His daughter Sam gets a feature in the Fairmont Sentinel.

ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Mallory Husz of Lewis Central has been named Athlete of the year by the Council Bluffs Daily Nonpareil. Husz is now at the University of Iowa and playing volleyball.

Iowa State's Heather Ezell was named the Iowa Games 2008 Marty McHone Female Athlete of the Year.

SCHEDULES
Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Northwestern, Penn State, and Wisconsin have released schedules with the emphasis on the Big 10 Network contests.

Kent State and Vanderbilt have released their 2008-09 schedule.
