TEAM WI SELECT DOUCETTE 64,
SOUTHERN MINNE MAGIC 19u 42

Team WI Select Doucette set up a rematch with Team WI Select Samuels by beating Southern Minne Magic 64-42. SMM was a combination of two SMM teams. They had not practiced before the tournament. SMM did have four collegiate players. In the end it was the court time and practice sessions that helped lift TWSD to victory over the SMM squad. SMM at times played with question marks over their heads.

SMM scored on their first two possessions and led at one point 10-5. They were 4/6 in that offensive sequence, they were clipping along at 166.7 pp100 and a floor % of .667. Neither was sustainable. The veterans fell into a six possession drought. The Minnesota club did have one last flourish with a three by Shannon Renne to go up 17-14. That was to be their last lead. TWSD outscored SMM 19-7 the last 7:30 of the first half. Sam Barber was stoking the fire for TWSD. She had 7 of the 19 and scored the final five points of the half.

After a Camille Stenhaug three cutting the margin to 33-27, SMM lapsed into an offensive coma with 10 straight empty trips, half of which ended in turnovers. By the time SMM found the bottom of the basket again, TWSD tacked on 11 more points to lead 44-27. SMM had other droughts in the second half of 5 and 6. The last six were at the end of the game. TWSD had 16 points on transition while had 4 points.

TEAM WI SELECT DOUCETTE
STARTERS
Katie Wolff, Marshfield 8, 10, 80.0, .400 point guard. scored in transition off her defense. led both teams with 7 assists. Yet forces some passes.
Cate Scholfield, Wausau West 8, 7, 114.3, .571 perimeter. has 3 range. crashes offensive boards.
Sam Barber, DC Everest 18, 13, 138.5, 615 aggressive, attack, on the prowl. has 3 range. went to the line three times. technically elbow is slightly out on her shot. should try to use left hand on the left side in transition.
Briana Radowicz, Mukwonago 4, 6, 66.7, .333 guard. runs, will take a 3. lefty
Anna Cole, Mondovi 0, 3, 0.0. .000 6-6 post player. Her first possession came with 7:06 left in the game. She wasn't in foul trouble. She needs to be much more active and aggressive on offense. She has some advantages, but she is not using them. She is playing like she is 6-0.
BENCH
Katey Wrobel, Osseo-Fairchild 13, 10, 130.0, .600 post player. runs the floor. active on the offensive glass. has an attacking mind set.
Brittany Gregorich, Altoona 3, 3, 100.0, .667 taller perimeter. good shot form
Courtney Doucette, Colfax 3, 8, 37.5, .125 guard. more shooting than point. When she was the point she would come down and shoot without any else touching the ball.
Kaycee Charette, Prescott 7, 3, 233.3, 1.000 flawless from the floor. skyrocketing pp100. lean perimeter. attacking mind set.

SOUTHERN MINNE MAGIC 19
STARTERS
Cassie Dorschner, Kasson-Mantorville 8, 8, 100.0, .375 guard. made 3s. needs to get a better passing angle when trying to feed the post.
Camille Stenhaug, Rochester JM, Luther 8, 13, 61.5, .231 more shooting guard. did have a reverse lay up. Needs to keep her thoughts to herself. complained too loud to a ref and was slapped with a T. forced passes, stared them down. passes sailed high. needs more deception.
Hannah Mesick, Chatfield, UW Eau Claire 5, 7, 71.4, .286 post. lefty. going against bigger Cole didn't give Mesick much wiggle room to get shot off. Mesick did score when fouled and converted 3 point play.
Shannon Renne, Nicollet, Augsburg 6, 12, 50.0, .083 3 point shooter. defensively off balance, leaning to far forward.
