4 Signings, 4 Coaching Hires, 2 Awards

SIGNINGS
Becky Burke of Abington Heights, PA has signed with Louisville. The 5-11 guard had originally signed with South Carolina, but with the coaching change she was granted a release. Burke was the PA AAAA player of the year.

Myesha Broaden of IMG Academies Pendleton School in Bradenton, Fla., has signed with San Jose State. The 6-2 center averaged 15 ppg last year.

Two Southeast Polk, IA players have made college decisions. Point Guard Ashley Rogers will be headed to Wartburg. Jenny McElree is off to Simpson. From the Des Moines Register.

COACHING NEWS
Andrea Ronderos has been hired as the girls basketball coach at Bismarck. Ronderos played her college ball at Mary and her high school ball at Washburn, ND. From KXMC and the Bismarck Tribune.

Jane Boller has been hired as the girls as the girls basketball coach at Belmond-Klemme, IA. Last sentence in the Belmond Independent.

The Tea/Harrisburg Champion has a feature on new Harrisburg coach Todd Schlimgen.

In college Ohio has hired Willis Brown and Karen Hewitt as assistants.

AWARDS
Former Gopher Lindsay Whalen was named WNBA East player of the week. It was her 3rd player of the week award.

Marquette coach Terri Mitchell won her second straight D1 coach of the year from the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association.

SHOW ME THE RING
Two Parkway Academy Florida players will have to pay for their AAA championship rings now that they have transferred. Tracey Williams started and Nairobi Brown was a reserve. From the Miami Herald.
