The Minnesota Gophers lost their fourth player, and second in the 2003 class as Liz Podominick is going to focus on the throwing events in preparation for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The Grand Forks paper is using the standard AP feed.

Coach Brenda Frese has ties to this region. She played high school ball in Cedar Rapids Washington, was an assistant at Iowa State for four years, coached at Minnesota in 2002 with a 22-8 record before leaving for Maryland.
