3AAA SEMIFINALS
DE LA SALLE islanders 52, HILL-MURRAY pioneers 46

This is the first of four games today

DeLaSalle won a grind-it-out slugfest with Hill-Murray in the semis of 3AAA. DLS beat HM earlier in the year 67-35. DLS led throughout except at 2-1. They did have a 9-2 run late in the first half to go up 17-9. But DLS didn't score the last 2:45 of the half. HM finished with a 3 by Jen Annoni and then Taylor Cross, on the next HM possession, got an offensive rebound, scored and made the free throw to cut the margin to 17-15 at half.

DLS asserted themselves on the first two possessions of the half and continued to build on their lead. The high water mark was 38-25 with 8 minutes to go. That is when HM kicked into rally mode. HM outscored DLS 15-4 in a five minute stretch to close the gap to 42-40. Cross scored on a drive from the high post. That was as close as HM was going to get. DLS's Aaryn Booker took over at that point. She scored on a lay up off the HM press and was fouled. She converted the three point play. After HM's Krista Kaput drained two free throws, Booker was fouled coming up court. She added two more free throws. Booker then gathered a rebound on the next HM miss. Again she was fouled and knocked down two more free throws. So Booker had 7 straight points for DLS. Booker had 22 points, 19 in the second half, 9 in the last three minutes.
DLS moves on with a 25-2 record while HM finishes up with a 14-14 record.
