STATE AAU TOURNAMENT
The Michigan State tournament was held in Grand Rapids last weekend with the top four teams in each age bracket moving on to nationals. Story from the Grand Rapids Press. Click on the age to see the brackets and results.
18u; The Livingston Sting beat the Motor City Suns 48-38. The Marquette Magic qualified for the Orlando tournament in July. From the Marquette Mining Journal.
16u: Michigan Crossover won the title over Team Michigan 51-48. Midland Fastbreak is off to nationals with a 4th place finish thanks to 27 points from Rachel Church. From the Midland Daily News.
15u: Michigan Shock/Pistons grabbed the prize over Crossover 58-48.
14u: Michigan Monarchs triumphed over the Shamrocks 50-36.
SUPREME COURT
The case moving the seasons in Michigan from fall to winter may be heard by the US Supreme Court but not until next session. from the Ann Arbor News.
AWARDS
Jason Purcell of Cheboygan has been named B coach of the year by the BCAM. He will coach in the all star game on August 4th at Brighton. Cheboygan's Amanda Blaskowski was named to the All State B second team as well.
